Lensatic marching compass in olive drab, military pattern, with a paracord lanyard. Used, in good working order.
HOW IT WORKS
This is the sighting compass used for map and compass navigation. The lid folds up with a sighting wire, the rear lens arm flips up so you can read the dial and sight the target at the same time, and the floating dial gives you a bearing you can walk on. The dial, the sighting wire and the index line are luminous, so it can be used at night once charged with light.
FEATURES
- Metal body with a hinged lid and a folding lens arm
- Floating dial marked in degrees and mils
- Bezel ring with a click stop for setting a bearing
- Straight edge with 1:25000 map scales moulded into the body, reading in metres
- Thumb loop on the base for a steady hold
- Paracord lanyard attached
CONDITION
Used and working: the needle swings freely and settles, the lid, hinge and lens arm all move properly, and the bezel clicks. The body has scuffs and wear to the paint, and the dial window has light scratches, but the dial is clear to read (see photos).
There is no maker's mark on it, so it is sold unbranded: it is the standard military pattern rather than a named make.
Good for airsoft, milsim, cadets, hiking, orienteering or scouts. Please look at all photos, they form part of the description. Private seller, posted within 2 working days of payment.
